Massif Adventures is run by Simon Ferrier as a specialist provider of adventurous activities for schools and adults. Simon has been running independent trips to the Ardeche Gorge and the French Alps for schools, families and adult groups for over ten years.

Simon is a highly experienced and qualified climbing, mountaineering and kayaking instructor. Simon holds the Mountain Instructor Award which is a high level UK award for teaching rock climbing and summer mountaineering. He is also a full member of the British Association of International Mountain Leaders, holds the Winter Mountain Leader Award and is a full member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors and a Level 4 Kayak Coach (advanced senior instructor) with the British Canoe Union. Simon is  an Expedition Assessor for Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold and he is also a very experienced hang glider and paraglider pilot.

Simon has been passionate about the great outdoors and adventure sports for as long as he can remember. Simon not only holds high level qualifications across a broad range of outdoor activities he is hugely experienced and very competent. Simon has competed at national and international level.

Simon has a quiet, confident approach with groups. He has a good sense of humour and he is usually understated apart from his kayaking helmet which was a present from a group in the Alps several years ago.
